Consults allow your clients or audience the opportunity to buy a set of custom product recommendations from you. For example, you could offer your audience the opportunity to purchase a review of their nighttime skincare routine. You design the consults with the information you need from them (structured like a mini quiz).
Creating a Consult
To add a new consultation, go to the Consults tab on your shop and click “ADD CONSULTATION +” at the bottom of the page.
You can choose a “Blank Template” or pick from examples that we have provided like a Nighttime Skincare Routine Review, Personalized Makeup Picks, and more. If you pick one of our examples, you’ll be able to edit it and add more questions as you’d like.
Within this form, you’ll be able to create a custom questionnaire that will inform the recommendations you can provide your clients, in a variety of ways: short-form responses, long-form responses, multiple choice questions, and media uploads (i.e. to allow someone to submit a photo of their skin for reference).
The consults you design are listed on your shop page under the consults tab. You can create as many as you'd like.
Setting a Price
Under the consult name and description field, you will see a small gear icon. When you click this icon, you will be able to set a price and quantity available for this specific consult.
If you want to keep an unlimited number of consults open, please leave the “How Many Available” field blank. The price you set for these consultations is entirely up to you!
As is the case with your standard shop, this service operates on a revenue share model. In this case, it’s 80/20, meaning that you receive 80% of the consult fee, and ShopMy would receive 20%. The affiliate revenue earned on products purchased will follow the typical model.
Cover Image
You can set cover images for the consults on your page by clicking “ADD IMAGE” on the consult tile. We’ve provided several different options to choose from across all beauty categories. You can update the cover photo at any time by clicking on the current image.
We also provide the option for you to upload your own images for cover photos. Some good examples of imagery to use are images of your skincare shelf, product flatlays, the inside of your makeup or haircare kit, or even a full makeup look. To add your own photo, you can either add it by URL (i.e. the URL to an Instagram post) or upload media from your device.
Add an Example Consult
To provide an example of a consult for your clients to reference prior to requesting their own, click “Show Completed” to display all the consults that have been done to-date. Then, select “Make Example” for any that you would like to make public-facing for your clients to view.
Share your Consults
Share your consults with your audience on your socials, so they can take advantage of your expertise. When you click into a consult, you’ll see a “SHARE LINK” button in the top right corner. Clicking this will automatically copy the consult landing page URL to your clipboard, so you can add it to your bio, your Linktree, swipe-ups, and more.
Tip: Add your link in your Linktree or hoo.be or your website with a call to action such as “Sign up for a Skincare Consult” and link to your consults URL.
Payment
Clients can pay for your consults by entering their credit card information after filling out the form. We accept all major credit cards as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
