How do Payouts work?
How ShopMy Payment Works
Our platform seamlessly integrates with retailer and brand affiliate programs. So when you add a product into your account, we automatically convert it into a ShopMy affiliate link. Commission rates on these products typically range from 10% to 30%, depending on the brand or retailer. Please note that you earn commission on the rate before taxes and shipping are factored in. ShopMy simplifies the process by consolidating earnings across various retailers and handling payouts, ensuring you receive a single, streamlined payment via Stripe or PayPal.
Pending vs. Locked Transactions
When a purchase is made, the commission enters a "pending" state until the retailer's return window closes, the transaction is verified, and the retailer sends payment to ShopMy. This process typically takes 30 to 120 days, depending on the retailer. Once the commission is received, the transaction status updates to "locked" and is included in the next payout.
Payout Schedule
Payouts occur weekly, every Friday. Please note that in order to qualify for a deposit, you must have at least $11 under "Next Payment." You can track your payment history under the "My Earnings" tab in the Payments section.
How do I link a PayPal or Stripe account to get paid?
ShopMy initiates creator payouts after receiving commission payments from retailers. This process generally includes a waiting period of 30 to 120 days post-purchase, a standard timeframe in affiliate networks to account for potential order adjustments or returns. Once payment is received from the retailer, your commissions move from Pending to Locked Earnings, making them eligible for weekly payouts every Friday. Please note that a minimum of $11 in confirmed earnings is required to initiate a payout.
Linking PayPal or Stripe
- Go to Account Settings from the menu bar.
- Scroll down and select Connected Accounts on the left-hand side.
- Choose Connect for either Stripe or PayPal and follow the prompts to complete the setup.
How do payouts for consults work?
This service operates on a revenue share model, similar to your regular shop. Here, the split is 80/20: you’ll retain 80% of the consultation fee, while ShopMy receives 20%. Affiliate revenue will continue to follow the standard model.

- Go to Account Settings from the menu bar.

How do payouts for collaborations work?
To get paid for collaborations, please link a Stripe account as it offers direct deposit. Please note if you choose not to link a Stripe account, your collaboration payments will be combined with your affiliate commissions and processed via PayPal every Friday as part of our regular payout schedule.

How do payouts for Opportunities work?
Opportunities are considered a flat fee on the affiliate side and therefore are treated similarly to a commission. However, once the requirements for an Opportunity have been met and it is marked as complete, the payment skips the usual pending-to-locked status process. Instead, it will be automatically included in your upcoming payment for that Friday.
What are “pending” vs “locked” vs “lifetime” earnings?
We process payouts weekly on Friday’s, once your commission has been locked. The amount scheduled for payout on the upcoming Friday will be displayed under 'Next Payment.' Commissions move from 'Pending' to 'Locked' status after the return window for the corresponding brand or retailer has closed. This period typically ranges from 30 to 120 days, depending on the brand's return policy. Lastly, 'Lifetime Earnings' reflects the total commissions you’ve earned to date, including both locked and pending amounts.
Purchases Made Through My Shop
How long does it take for commissions to show up in my earnings?
Please note that it may take up to 7 days for your purchase to appear in your account. This timeline is not controlled by ShopMy, but is instead dependent on the retailer or merchant, which is why the timing can vary. In some cases, the process may take up to a couple of weeks.
Is there any reason a purchase would not be attributed to my links?
Affiliate tracking can sometimes be a “leaky bucket”—we know there are purchases that creators are driving, but not all of them are correctly attributed. This is an industry-wide challenge that every network and platform faces. This can happen for many reasons, such as:
- If someone clicks another person's affiliate link in between clicking yours and completing the purchase/checking out (this even includes search engine ads, links through ads/social media/newsletters, etc.)
- If someone were to change devices in the midst of a purchase (i.e. to switch from phone to computer)
- If a different individual's coupon code is used amidst a purchase using your affiliate link
- If someone uses a coupon browser extension like Honey (or even have it installed) or if they have Rakuten installed
- If someone made a purchase in a mobile app. Most but not all retailers have tracking for mobile app purchases
What do I do for a missing order?
Please note that it can, at times, take at least 7 days for orders to populate in your earnings tab. If you can provide us with details in the form here, we’re always happy to investigate missing orders. However, there may be limitations on what we can resolve or the additional information we’re able to provide.
If someone makes a purchase through my link but buys a different product than the one shared, will I still receive credit for the sale?
Yes! As long as the purchase is made through your affiliate link, and yours is the last link the shopper clicks before completing their checkout, you’ll earn a commission. In fact, you’ll receive commission on the entire purchase, not just the specific item that was initially clicked, commonly known as full cart commission.
- For example, if a customer clicks an affiliate link and adds several items to their cart, the total value of the cart at checkout is considered. If the cart value is $200 and the affiliate commission rate is 10%, the creator would earn $20, which is 10% of the total cart value, regardless of the number of items or their individual prices.
How long is the cookie window on ShopMy?
This is the period during which an affiliate is eligible to earn a commission after a user clicks their affiliate link. This can range from when a single browser session ends to up to 30 days, which is entirely up to the brands discretion.
Why does the commission rate shown on the platform differ from the amount I earned on a purchase?
There are several factors that may explain why the commission rate on the platform doesn’t match the earnings reflected in the "My Earnings" tab:
- Average Commission Rate: Many retailers offer tiered commission rates based on various factors, such as brand, product, cart size, and whether the customer is new or returning. Additionally, some brands and retailers use a tiered commission system depending on the category and SKU, which may cause the rate to differ from what you see in your earnings. Since we can’t provide rates based on every individual circumstance, we offer an average commission rate as a general guide for what you might expect when linking to a particular retailer. You can find more details by hovering over the 'i' icon next to the commission rate in your links tab or wherever the rate is displayed.
- Exclusions: Some retailers exclude certain items, collections, or entire brands from earning commissions. If a purchase includes an excluded item, your earnings may appear smaller than the total order amount. Like with tiered rates, we can’t always capture all the exclusions — but, rest assured, we aim to provide you with an accurate average estimate of what you can expect.
- International Websites: Commission rates can vary depending on the country from which you’re shopping, as some retailers use different URLs for different regions. This can result in varying commission rates based on location.

Taxes
Does ShopMy file our taxes?
No, ShopMy does not handle tax filings for creators on the platform. Stripe and PayPal will issue your 1099 forms. You can learn more about this process here. Please consult your accountant for any guidance.
How do I get my 1099?
All 1099 forms are issued through PayPal or Stripe, depending on the payment method you’ve selected. Here’s how to request your 1099 form based on your chosen payout method:
