How can we help?

How do I work with brand partners in the app?

Chat, gifting, spotlights, codes, and collabs explained.

Everything you need to work with brands lives under Partners in the ShopMy app, organized into five areas: Chat CenterGiftingOpportunitiesSpotlights, and Codes.

Chat Center

Chat Center is where you can talk directly with brand partners about gifting, discount codes, and campaign details.

Use the inbox tools to:

  • Filter for brands that have sent you an Opportunity or gifting offer.
  • Hide unanswered or promotional messages.
  • Sort by recent activity or brand popularity on ShopMy.
  • Search by brand name or keyword.

Enthusiasts and Ambassadors can reply when a brand starts a conversation. Trendsetters and above can also message brands first.

If you experience an issue with a link or payout, contact Creator Support for help.

Gifting

Gifting is where you can receive product offers from brands. These offers are powered by Lookbooks, which feature a curated selection of products for you to choose from.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You’ll receive a mobile and email notification when a brand sends you an offer.
  1. Open it under Gifting and select the product or products you’d like.
  1. Enter your mailing address when accepting your first gift, then save it under Account Settings for future offers.
  1. Not interested? Tap the X or Dismiss to decline the offer. The brand won’t be notified, and it won’t affect future invitations.
  1. Once your gift arrives, ShopMy will prompt you to create an affiliate link so anything you share is trackable.

Accepting a gift does not obligate you to post. If you genuinely love the product and choose to share it, you can earn commission through your ShopMy link.

Enthusiasts and Ambassadors primarily receive gifting invitations. Trendsetters and above can also request products directly from brands.

Opportunities

Opportunities are flat-fee campaigns that let you earn additional income on top of your regular affiliate commission.

Unlike a traditional paid partnership with a detailed creative brief, Opportunities are designed to be simple: a brand sets a clear requirement, and once you complete it, you get paid.

There are two types:

  • Bonus Opportunities give you creative freedom over when and how you feature the brand. For example, a brand may ask you to share five links within 30 days. Once completed, your payment will appear as pending until it is issued by the brand.
  • Gifting Opportunities pair a high-value product with a posting commitment. By opting in, you agree to share at least one link or social mention within the specified timeframe in exchange for the product.

Opportunities are also a great way to build a performance history with a brand, which can lead to larger partnerships over time.

Spotlights

Spotlights allow brands to put paid Meta ad spend behind content you’ve already shared on Instagram or Facebook. The promoted content appears under your handle, and your affiliate link stays attached, so you earn commission on attributed sales.

There’s no new content or brief, the brand is simply expanding the reach of content you’ve already created.

To get started:

  1. Connect your Instagram and Facebook accounts through the Spotlights onboarding flow.
  1. Choose whether to review requests individually or automatically approve trusted brands.
  1. Track boosted revenue separately from organic link performance in your analytics.

Unlike Opportunities, which reward you for completing promotional requirements, Spotlights amplify your existing content.

Codes

Codes give your audience a personalized discount to use at checkout. Orders placed with your code are attributed to you, even if the shopper didn’t click your affiliate link first.

Request a code from the brand through Chat. Not every brand offers codes, but when available, they’re a simple way to capture more of the sales you influence.

Together, these five areas support every stage of a brand relationship - from the first conversation and gifting to bonus earnings, content amplification, and discount codes. You don’t need to use every feature with every brand; many strong partnerships begin with a conversation or a product you genuinely love.
